Nancy Boldt
Health Careers Educator
Nancy works to bring healthcare career information to middle and high school students in Grand Isle, Franklin, Chittenden and Addison counties. Nancy is a lifelong learner who has an educational background in wildlife biology (BS), science teaching (M.Ed.) and educational administration (Ed.D.). She has served as the director of the Champlain College Single Parents Program and UVM’s Upward Bound program (both of which she helped to develop from their initiation). Nancy achieved both national and international recognition for her work helping single parents attain financial security through higher education and her doctoral thesis was used to help inform policy makers about the positive outcomes of higher educational attainment for single parents and their children resulting in Vermont law which encourages and supports such endeavors. Aside from higher education, Nancy has worked with both the Youth and Young Adult Conservation Corps on environmental issues, participated with research in Montana through the federal wildlife system, taught students with learning disabilities, provided support to elderly people who are blind, and worked as a stained glass artist specializing in restoration. She currently co-owns the Vermont Gemological Lab in Burlington, Vermont with her son who is a master appraiser and jeweler. Nancy enjoys outdoor activities such as sailing, gardening and horseback riding. She is busy reading and learning how to make enamel jewelry when she can’t get outside.

Judy Contompasis
Health Careers Educator
Judy Contompasis works to bring healthcare career information to middle and high school students in Grand Isle, Franklin, Chittenden and Addison counties. She helps to implement, plan and design a variety of Champlain Valley AHEC programs working with students, schools, and healthcare professionals alike. Judy is passionate about education and building community in her native Vermont. She has experience as a museum educator, high school science teacher, student researcher, and special education para-educator. Judy received her M Ed from Providence College, and graduated from UVM with a BA in Biology. Originally from Chittenden County, Judy is enthusiastic about working to support students in pursuing careers in health care with the Champlain Valley AHEC. In her spare time, Judy enjoys sewing, knitting, Shape Note singing, and contra dancing.

Mary Horton
Administrative Coordinator
Mary is in charge of all day-to-day bookkeeping, board and administrative support and human resources duties. Mary has years of experience in office management. She spent the last few years as a comptroller with Professional Nurses Service in Winooski and prior to that spent 13 years managing people and projects as a Captain in the United States Air Force.

Tammy Johnson
Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Tammy handles marketing and communications, including updating content on the website and on Facebook and production of the bi-monthly newsletters and the annual report. In addition, she manages the database containing information on all primary care practitioners in the Champlain Valley region (Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle counties) and is the regional Program Coordinator for PTOPhelp. Tammy is a native Vermonter originally from the Northeast Kingdom. She lives with her husband and one high school-aged son in Fairfield. She’s also the proud mom of a daughter who attends Middlebury College. Tammy enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with family. In addition, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Miss Vermont Scholarship Organization where she is also the Miss Coordinator.

Jane Nesbitt, MS
Executive Director
Jane Nesbitt, Executive Director and former Health Careers Program Educator for the VT Health Careers Opportunity Program (VT HCOP) provides both organizational leadership and continues to plan, develop and implement programs and activities focused on creating and expanding health career exploration opportunities for Vermont students in Chittenden, Addison, Grand Isle and Franklin Counties. Jane earned her Masters of Science in Management of Mission- Driven Organizations from Marlboro College. She has served in many leadership and management roles, such as Director of Operations, Health Center Administrator/Manager, Finance Director and Senior Program Associate in various Vermont health care, education and human services non- profits. These include the Lund Family Center, Trinity College, WestEd and PACE Vermont. Her personal passions include spending time with family and friends, enjoying her granddaughter, engaging in and contributing to community, traveling, gardening, playing fiddle, appreciating and creating beauty and reading.

Judy Wechsler
Education Resource Coordinator
Judy Wechsler develops, coordinates, and evaluates health care student projects; supports continuing education for health care professionals; leads community-based surveys and studies; and coordinates cultural competency programs in Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle counties. Wechsler previously served as director of international programs and special projects for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE). She was also a physician’s assistant and clinic manager at PPNNE’s St. Albans facility.
